Towards the end of last year I was approached by the Royal Agricultural Society who were looking for judges for their 2013 Photography competition.
I was honored to be asked and happily accepted the offer to be one of 3 judges for the Nature category of the 2013 IGA Perth Royal Show National Photographic Competition & Exhibition.
So bright and early on Saturday morning I arrived at the Photography Building in Claremont Showgrounds and after a quick coffee we were perusing the entries laid out on tables before sitting down for the formal judging process.
There were about 220 enties to the Nature category and I must say that overall the quality of entries was very high and it was a joy to see some of the amazing photography that people are creating.
One of the main comments I would have to entrants would be to pay more attention to composition and try to make the image tell a story or envoke an emotion.
