I was recently appointed to sit on the City of Wanneroo’s new Business and Tourism working group. Four representatives from local businesses (plus two more to be announced soon) were selected to sit on this working group which has been formed with the following purpose in mind:
“To participate in the development and promotion of business and tourism development strategies relevant to the Wanneroo region and the NW (North-West) corridor.”
The working group is made up of a mixture of local councillors, state MP’s and local business representatives. My main purpose in sitting on this working group is to help the City shape it’s Tourism strategies and successfully market itself as a true Tourism Destination. Wanneroo has a lot more to offer than people are aware of and even more in terms of future potential.
If we can assist and promote the Tourism industry that exists in Wanneroo today then we can start attracting new Tourism ventures which will help the local economy by creating more income and employment.
We already have a lot happening here in Wanneroo with proposals to create a new Holiday Resort in Yanchep on the existing Capricorn Resort site, a new outdoor Paintball / Laser venture (Castle Invasion) already operating at the old Dizzy Lamb Park and the plans for development of the Alkimos Marina to name but a few.
We are very passionate about Tourism in Wanneroo and Western Australia so we are excited about being involved in helping to shape the future direction of Wanneroo.
