I hope everyone had a good Australia Day last weekend. We were down at Mindarie Marina covering their celebrations and had a great time. It was pretty busy down there, but nothing compared to the chaos in the city and we got to walk straight past all the stationary traffic in the way home 🙂
Before the fireworks started we had dinner and a pint at the Indi, I just love having a micro brewery with great beer right on the doorstep 🙂
I must admit that fireworks are not my favourite thing in the world but it was interesting experimenting with taking pics of them. As I haven’t taken any firework shots for many years (way before digital) I was interested to see how they would come out and I was pleasantly surprised.
Here are a few samples, let me know what you think:
Just got back from a great day at Rottnest Island, I still can’t believe I’ve lived in Perth for nearly 17 years and this was only my second visit.
Thanks to Rottnest Fast Ferries for getting me there, great boat and great people.
I’ve not really had much chance to go through the images yet but heres a small taste of what’s to come …
Hi, my name is Dave Caltey, welcome to my first ever blog.
I am a Landscape Photographer based in Perth, Western Australia, you can learn a bit more about me and see some of my images by visiting my web site www.madcat.com.au. As I am also a Web Developer (or at least I was before I chucked it in and took up photography) it stands to reason that my web site is in need of some serious updating, so please check back here regulalry (if you’re interested) and I’ll keep you updated on it’s progress.
I plan to post information here about photoshoots I embark on (big and small) and show many of my existing/new images. Please feel free to ask questions, give advice or offer critisism and I wil do my best to answer.
Just to get the ball rolling here is one of my earlier images from Bunker Bay. It’s not a traditional photographic seascape at all, in fact many peaple question whether it really is a photograph but I assure you it is 🙂
