Rottnest Trip

Just got back from a great day at Rottnest Island, I still can’t believe I’ve lived in Perth for nearly 17 years and this was only my second visit.
Thanks to Rottnest Fast Ferries for getting me there, great boat and great people.

I’ve not really had much chance to go through the images yet but heres a small taste of what’s to come …

  1. Yeah I was there a couple of weeks ago, but haven’t processed anything. Its a great place to shoot.

    Whats happening with the colour of the rocks?

  3. The big rocks on the left. In the web image, they seem to have a blue colour cast.

  4. I see what you mean James, they look alot less blue when you see them larger on the screen but if I remember correctly those rocks were pretty gray and the light was quite harsh neither of which help.

    I might need to tweak the white balance to warm the rocks up a bit. As you mentioned in the other post, white balance can be a bit tricky to get right sometimes :)

    This pic still needs a bit of work before it’s finished I think.
